Consent to electronic communications

What you consent to when you submit a matching request, how to withdraw it, and how message and data rates apply. Draft pending attorney review.

What you are consenting to

By submitting a matching request you agree that we may share the information you submitted with one or more participating independent providers, and that those providers may contact you by phone, text message, or email about your request.

Consent is not a condition of purchasing any service. Message and data rates may apply.

Two separate consents

Matching consent
Required to submit a request, because without it there is nothing we are permitted to do with your details. It covers a provider contacting you about the request you made.
Marketing consent
Entirely optional, never pre-checked, and a separate checkbox. It covers occasional emails from us about mobile healthcare resources. Declining does not affect your match in any way.

How to withdraw consent

  • Tell the provider directly to stop contacting you.
  • Reply STOP to a text message from a provider.
  • Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email from us.
  • Contact us and ask us to record your withdrawal and delete our copy of your request.

The record we keep

We store the exact consent sentence you were shown, its version identifier, the time you accepted it, the page you were on, and the language you were reading. If the wording on the site changes later, your record keeps the wording you actually saw.

TODO: counsel to confirm this record satisfies the applicable federal and Texas requirements for evidencing prior express consent, including under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act where texts or calls are involved.
