Matching and lead-sharing disclosure

Exactly what is shared with a provider when you submit a request, and what is not. Draft pending attorney review.

What is shared, field by field

When your request matches a participating provider, this is everything they receive. There is nothing else.

  • The service category you selected.
  • The timeframe you selected.
  • Your ZIP code.
  • The street address you gave for the visit, including an apartment or unit if you entered one.
  • Your first and last name.
  • Whichever single contact detail you gave us — a phone number or an email address — and whether you asked to be called or texted.
  • The language you were reading the site in.
  • The version of the consent text you accepted, when you accepted it, and the page you were on.
  • Whether you opted in to marketing email, which is a separate choice.
  • Attribution data: UTM parameters, click identifiers, landing page, and referring origin.

What is never shared

  • Symptoms, diagnoses, or medical history. The form cannot collect them.
  • Any medical detail. The form has no field that could carry one.
  • Your IP address.
  • Anything about any other request you have made.

How many providers receive a request

One. A matched request goes to the single highest-priority provider that covers your ZIP code and the service you selected and is currently accepting that category.

We do not resell a request to multiple providers, which is why you should not receive a wave of calls.

If nothing matches, nothing is sent to anyone, and you are told so directly along with the reason.

How we are compensated

Participating providers pay to take part in this platform, which may include featured placement. Payment may influence where a provider appears on this site. It does not permit a provider to alter our editorial standards or make unsupported claims.

You are never charged for using this service.

Is this a sale of personal information?

We receive compensation from a provider and we transmit your information to that provider, under the consent you gave, for the purpose you asked for. Whether that constitutes a “sale” or a “share” under a particular state statute is a legal question.

TODO: counsel to determine the correct characterisation under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and any other applicable state regime, and to confirm the required disclosures. We describe the mechanics precisely here so that determination can be made on the facts.

Regardless of the characterisation, an opt-out is available on the Do Not Sell or Share page.

Requesting a record of what was sent

Contact us with your reference number and we will tell you which provider received your request, when, and exactly which fields were transmitted. We keep that record specifically so this question can be answered.

  • Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to make it stop.

  • How Matching Works

We check your ZIP code and requested service against participating providers, then pass your request to one that covers it. We do not screen you medically and we do not book appointments.

  • How Sponsored Placement Works

Some participating providers pay to take part in this platform, which may include featured placement. Payment may influence where a provider appears. It does not permit a provider to alter our general educational standards or make unsupported claims.
