Mobile healthcare means a licensed clinician travels to you and delivers care wherever you are — a house, an office, a hotel room — instead of you travelling to a clinic.
The clinical scope is essentially the scope of a clinic room, minus anything that needs equipment too large or too fragile to travel. That single constraint explains almost every limit described on this site.
What it is not
- It is not emergency care. There is no substitute for an ambulance or an emergency department.

How licensing and oversight work in Texas
The setting does not change the licence. A physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or registered nurse delivering care in your living room is bound by the same scope of practice and the same board as they would be in a clinic.
What does change is supervision. In a clinic there are colleagues, a crash cart, and someone else in the building. In your home there may be one person. That is worth asking about directly, and a provider who has thought about it will have a clear answer.

The clinician's licence and scope of practice are identical regardless of setting. What differs is the physical environment and the support available, which is why questions about emergency preparedness matter more here.
What can't a mobile provider do at my house?
Anything requiring imaging, an on-site laboratory, procedural sedation, or facilities for a significant complication. If a suspected fracture, appendicitis, or chest pain is on the table, the answer is a facility, not a house call.
